A Death in Chunfen
A stubborn stone falls off a cliff. Will it wither and rot, or smash into pieces?
A drop of rain long craved by a mountain village turns into a surging deluge,
taking lives, names, and the very meaning of 'benevolence' from Moushan's name.
The blade in Qiubai's hand can protect lives, but cannot rein in the will of the people.
Mountains surround Moushan village, but outside the mountain range,
just how many more incidents like this are transpiring?
- Afraid to Return Home (Interlude)After leaving Yumen, Qiubai searches for the remnants of the Shanhaizhong gang. Her chase leads her into their den, where she finds a child. After confirming that he only ended up there because of a misunderstanding, she decides to escort him home.
- Courtyard Valley (Interlude)The villagers are extremely wary of Fang Xiaoshi, who left the village many years ago. In order to protect him from further danger, Qiubai stays behind and learns about a past event from the Clan Elder.
- Neither Gods Nor Demons (Interlude)An unexpected mudslide washes away the Chidao outside the village, revealing a nameless corpse. Faced with such a tragedy, the villagers present can only fall into silence.
- Health and Safety (Interlude)Just when everyone thought the scheme would go exactly as planned, Mulberry shows up with the village's Messenger in tow, sending the villagers into a panic. Faced with the prospect of the villagers running out of control, Qiubai steps back into the fray.
- Nameless Minion (Interlude)In the Yishan Temple, Saga hears the Village Elder's confessions, one-by-one. Below the cliff, Qiubai rescues a boy whose name has just been killed.
