Guide Ahead
A grand and unprecedented Summit of Nations,
Gathering envoys from all lands to the holy city of Laterano.
Beneath an eternal halo, they share joy and glory;
Amidst ceaseless gunshots, they fend off pain and darkness.
Foreign travelers marvel at the scenery, while returning Messengers silently pray:
May supreme grace be bestowed upon us, may eternal redemption descend to us.
May you and I, guided by the light, journey ahead to an unknown horizon.
- GA-ST-1: Right Place, Right Time (Interlude)As the Legati and envoys of all nations congregate in Laterano, Cecelia, a resident of the outskirts, loses her mother. Her mother's final words: 'Leave Laterano.'
- GA-1: Darkness Beneath the Light (Before Operation)Cecelia's halo flickers and dims before apprentice executor Ezell's eyes—but how could a Sankta so young be fallen?
- GA-1: Darkness Beneath the Light (After Operation)A Liberi, by the name of Patia, shows up to wrest Cecelia away, but considers herself a protector. She says, 'If you truly care about Cecelia, then don't give her up to the Notarial Hall or the Lateran Curia.'
- GA-2: Time to Stroll (Before Operation)Though the doubt surrounding Cecelia grows and grows, Ezell still makes a pledge to her: I promised to help you find your mother, and I will.
- GA-2: Time to Stroll (After Operation)The mixed-blood offspring of Sankta and other races do not become Sankta. Cecelia is a Sankta that was not meant to become one.
- GA-3: Mixed Blood (Before Operation)On the streets of Laterano, Cecelia says to a disguised Sarkaz vendor: 'Your horns look just like Papà's... Are you also a Sarkaz?'
- GA-3: Mixed Blood (After Operation)'Even if this gets me expelled from the Notarial Hall, I have to try. I must bring Cecelia to the Ecclesia Requietum. And at least let her say goodbye.'
- GA-4: Ecclesia Requietum (Before Operation)Cecelia hums an old Sarkaz nursery rhyme upstairs, scattering the melody of her song far and wide. The friar, known as the 'Guide' to his people, asks Ezell a question: Why are the Sankta the only ones allowed happiness?
- GA-4: Ecclesia Requietum (After Operation)The Sankta can feel each other's emotions, and Fiammetta was the only Liberi in her four man squad. Can Mostima and Lemuen understand Fiammetta's anger?
- GA-5: Obsequies (Before Operation)The thing that guides us ahead is not the ritual itself, but we ourselves after we go through the whole experience. 'Only you can find the right way forward for yourself, and it is only with your own two legs that you can walk that path.'
- GA-5: Obsequies (After Operation)'Life in Laterano is precious.' Does Ezell, your typical Lateran, have to choose a path he never once considered? And how did the decisively atypical Andoain choose his path?
- GA-6: Requiem (Before Operation)Cecelia takes the first step on the path she decides for herself. Who can say how far she will go? Regardless, she has already found her first ally and friend.
- GA-6: Requiem (After Operation)At the top of the tower, Cecelia sings an ancient Sarkaz folk song. Suddenly, bells begin to ring. The old man whom the masses call the 'Pope' asks thus: Is this good or bad?
- GA-7: Light and Shadow (Before Operation)Be it fantasies or ideals, if we never chased the things we once believed in, would we have made it to where we are today? Perhaps we were once naive, but one need not regret naivety.
- GA-7: Light and Shadow (After Operation)When a Sankta asks the Lateran Pope: why does the Church refuse to offer others salvation? The answer he receives is that of silence. Perhaps that is a better answer than the real one.
- GA-8: Shadow and Ash (Before Operation)'Lemuen forgave you. Mostima forgave you. Yvangelista XI forgave you. Even if all of Laterano forgives you... I will not.'
- GA-8: Shadow and Ash (After Operation)It is not divine revelation that brings enlightenment to the devout, but the obsessions of man. Salvation does not come from trading faith for blessings, but from earning the right to save oneself, through commitment to one's beliefs.
- GA-ST-2: Iris (Interlude)The setting sun illuminates the halo on his head like a crown. She recalls her mother's words, including the word that she did not fully understand - 'martyr'.
